Auto Blackberry is one of those autoflower strains that many growers fall in love with. The beautiful brightness looks so special that it is hard not to love them! How do you get Auto Blackberry even more purple?
This is a question that many growers ask about this strain. Although most plants will naturally have purple blooms, regardless of the circumstances, is it still possible to also find green phenotypes. To give this strain the extra push that they need to become darker or purple, we recommend letting the night temperature drop sharply. This imitates an outdoor climate and helps accentuate the purple colours. This plant reacts more to cold temperatures than most varieties. As a result, she produces different pigments. This allows the leaves and blooms to darken, often bright purple. But the colours can also vary from very dark to almost black.

This strain is known for the excellent quality which it is able to produce in a very short period of time. From seed to harvest takes about 10 weeks. There are even phenotypes that are ready in 9 weeks, but these are grown indoors in a stable climate with 20 hours of light per day.
The original Blueberry from Dutch Passion is a very popular and sought-after classic variety dating back to the late 1980s, early 1990s. Blueberry won 2 cups at the High Times Cup in Amsterdam in 2000 and 2001. She is still a coffee shop favourite decades after her introduction. In addition, Blueberry genetics have been the basis for the creation of numerous new strains worldwide.
Auto Blackberry is a plant that stays fairly compact. She doesn’t grow very tall and often grows with a sturdy and thick main bloom. Her sides don’t stretch very far from the main bloom which makes this strain very interesting for a SOG setup. Even her side blooms produces thick branches that can carry quite a bit of weight without sagging. With its 10 week life cycle this is one of the faster strains in our collection.
Her plant structure can best be described as very compact. The internodal distance is small and the leaves are usually broad and thick.

The flowering time of Auto Blackberry
Auto Blackberry is a compact autoflower and will grow to an average height of around 0.75m. Some plants will remain around 0.5m, others may reach as tall as 1m. But in general she will grow to around 75cm. Some phenotypes grow very fast initially, even though the first 2 weeks may seem to be slow. From the end of week 3 to the beginning of week 4, she can really start to grow fast. By week 5, most of this explosive growth will be over and she will mainly focus on producing flowers.
Due to the fast flowering it’s possible to grow this autoflower in just about all conditions. Even in the most northern or southern regions. Choose the very best 2.5-3 summer months because sufficient sun-hours are important for a good yield. Where possible try to grow her during the months with the least rain. That’s because excessively high humidity will not benefit!
The yield of the Auto Blackberry autoflower
With the right cultivation technique and in the right conditions, she can provide reasonably high yields. It’s possible to achieve around 400-450 g/m2 in a controlled indoor cultivation.
Individual plants can easily yield several hundreds of grams per plant. Auto Blackberry seeds can be grown on all types of systems and cultivation methods, whether it be hydro, soil or coco fibre.
